As a FinTech Strategy Consultant, you will support international business development and transformation initiatives, with a particular focus on digital payments, AI and IoT solutions, and emerging digital ecosystems.
You will work on projects ranging from business strategy and new product development to global DX initiatives and FinTech research, helping clients turn emerging technologies and market opportunities into practical business solutions. The role also provides exposure to international payment networks, real-time payments (RTP), digital ecosystems, and UPI-based business models across India, Asia, and other emerging markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive global business development and strategy projects, including the planning of AI and IoT solutions, new business initiatives, and digital payment products and services.
- Support global digital transformation (DX) programmes, business strategy development, and cross-sector or academia-industry collaboration projects.
- Conduct research and provide strategic insights on international payment networks, real-time payments (RTP), FinTech trends, and global interbank systems.
- Develop business strategies and technical approaches for clients operating within the FinTech and digital payments ecosystem.
- Explore business opportunities involving digital ecosystems and UPI-based payment infrastructure across India, Asia, and other emerging markets.
- Contribute to projects involving the development of advanced financial talent and support facilities, as well as research into emerging European FinTech trends.
- Collaborate with clients and international stakeholders to translate complex technology and market developments into actionable transformation strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- More than 6 years of professional experience, with relevant expertise in business development, strategy, digital transformation, FinTech, payments, AI, IoT, or related areas.
- Experience within a manufacturing or IT company planning AI or IoT solutions, developing new businesses, or launching digital payment products and services.
- Practical experience in global business development, business strategy development, and DX initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Japanese business practices and the Japanese market, with experience successfully delivering projects in Japan.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional background relevant to the position.
Soft Skills:
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to connect technology trends to practical business opportunities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills for working across clients, internal teams, and international projects.
- Ability to operate effectively in multicultural and cross-border environments.
- Commercial mindset with an interest in developing new businesses and solving complex transformation challenges.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent proficiency.
- English: Intermediate to business-level proficiency for global projects and stakeholder communication.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of international payment networks and real-time payment (RTP) systems.
- Expertise combining FinTech business strategy with an understanding of technical architecture and payment infrastructure.
- Knowledge or practical experience with digital ecosystems and UPI payment infrastructure.
- Experience researching or advising on international FinTech, digital payments, or global banking infrastructure.
- Consulting experience related to business transformation, strategy, FinTech, or global digital initiatives.
