Generative AI Consulting Director - Agentic AI

Lead the next generation of Generative AI and Agentic AI consulting with a major US consulting firm expanding its AI capabilities in Japan. As a Generative AI Consulting Director, you will work with senior business and technology leaders to identify, design, and implement practical AI solutions that address strategic priorities and deliver measurable business value.

This is a senior consulting opportunity combining Generative AI, Agentic AI, digital transformation, AI strategy, automation, and enterprise technology. You will guide clients from initial use-case identification and feasibility assessment through strategy, roadmap development, and implementation.

As a founding member of the growing practice, you will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Chief AI Officer (CAIO), influence the direction of the AI consulting business, and operate with significant autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead client engagements focused on identifying, designing, and implementing Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions that address business priorities and generate measurable value.
• Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders to identify high-impact Gen AI use cases, assess feasibility, and develop implementation strategies and transformation roadmaps.
• Advise clients on AI-enabled operating models, business process transformation, intelligent automation, AI governance, and the integration of Generative AI into existing enterprise technology environments.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across strategy, business, data, technology, and AI, taking solutions from initial concept through implementation.
• Translate emerging AI capabilities into practical business solutions that improve processes, operating models, customer experiences, and enterprise performance.
• Contribute to business development by building senior client relationships, developing proposals, producing thought leadership, and identifying new AI transformation and consulting opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Significant experience within consulting, advisory, or professional services, with a track record of delivering AI, Generative AI, digital transformation, or related technology engagements.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI and emerging AI capabilities, including their practical application to business processes, operating models, automation, and enterprise transformation.
• Proven ability to lead complex consulting engagements from strategy and use-case development through implementation.
• Experience working directly with senior business and technology stakeholders to translate emerging technologies into practical and commercially relevant solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams across business, strategy, data, technology, and AI.
• Experience developing implementation strategies, transformation roadmaps, or operating models for enterprise technology initiatives.

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Business-level proficiency.
• English: Business-level proficiency for client engagements and collaboration within an international consulting environment.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Agentic AI, AI agents, Generative AI implementation, or enterprise AI transformation.
• Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI, enterprise automation, and AI-enabled operating models.
• Experience developing Generative AI use cases and assessing their feasibility, business value, and implementation requirements.
• Business development experience, including senior client relationship management, proposals, thought leadership, and identification of new consulting opportunities.
• Experience helping establish, scale, or lead an AI, technology, or digital transformation consulting practice.
• Strong understanding of how Generative AI can integrate with existing enterprise technology environments and business processes.
