Junior Corporate Banker Corporate Banking Tokyo

A leading global Corporate & Investment Bank is seeking a Junior Banker to support coverage of large Japanese corporations and multinational clients.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to build a career in Corporate Banking, Relationship Management, Credit Analysis, Transaction Banking, Treasury Solutions, and Capital Markets. Working alongside experienced senior bankers, you will gain exposure to client relationship management, financial analysis, credit underwriting, and complex financing transactions while developing the skills required to progress into a Relationship Manager position.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior Relationship Managers in managing and developing relationships with large Japanese corporates and multinational companies.
• Conduct financial, industry, and company analysis to identify business opportunities and support client coverage activities.
• Prepare client presentations, credit applications, and internal approval documentation.
• Assist clients with financing, treasury, liquidity management, and foreign exchange solutions.
• Coordinate with Transaction Banking, Capital Markets, and Financing teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Monitor client performance, market developments, and portfolio risks.
• Support credit approval processes and ongoing relationship management activities.
• Participate in client meetings and business development initiatives.
• Assist with transaction execution and internal stakeholder coordination.
• Maintain high standards of risk management and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Corporate Banking, Credit Analysis, Transaction Banking, Leveraged Finance, or a related financial services role.
• Experience supporting Relationship Managers or front-office bankers covering corporate clients.
• Strong analytical skills with experience conducting financial analysis and credit assessments.
• Experience preparing credit applications, client presentations, and approval documentation.
• Good understanding of corporate finance, lending products, and treasury solutions.
• Experience working within banking or financial services environments.
• Exposure to corporate client-facing activities and stakeholder management.

Soft Skills:

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Business level or above.
• English: Business level or above.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience within Corporate Banking, Credit Risk, Transaction Banking, or related corporate client-facing functions.
• Experience working within a Japanese Megabank, either at branch or head office level.
• Knowledge of Treasury products, Capital Markets, or Corporate Financing solutions.
• Exposure to multinational corporate clients.
• Understanding of international banking products and services.
