A global leader in the medical devices industry is seeking an experienced HR & General Affairs Director to lead the People and General Affairs function across multiple business entities in Japan. This executive leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic HR initiatives that support business growth, organizational transformation, and employee engagement while ensuring compliance with Japanese labor regulations.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee the full spectrum of Human Resources, including HR Business Partnering, Talent Management, Compensation & Benefits, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Talent Acquisition, and General Affairs. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the overall HR and General Affairs strategy across multiple legal entities.
- Partner with executive leadership to align people strategies with business objectives.
- Drive Talent Management, succession planning, leadership development, and Learning & Development initiatives.
- Oversee Compensation & Benefits, performance management, and employee engagement programs.
- Manage employee relations, labor management, and ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and company policies.
- Lead Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding initiatives to attract and retain top talent.
- Drive organizational transformation, change management, and HR digitalization projects.
- Oversee General Affairs operations to ensure efficient workplace management and business support.
- Develop, coach, and lead the HR and General Affairs team while fostering a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with regional and global HR teams to implement best practices and strategic initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years of HR leadership experience, including management of multiple HR functions.
- Experience leading HR within a multinational organization.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese labor law and employment regulations.
- Proven experience in HR Business Partnering (HRBP), organizational development, and change management.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across senior leadership teams.
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English communication skills.
