(Haken) Data Engineer - Java Pipelines for E-commerce

As a (Haken) Data Engineer / Software Engineer (Data), you will design, build, and operate Java-based data pipelines that power real-time normalization and large-scale data processing. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and operate end-to-end data infrastructure and services
- Build and maintain data pipelines processing item and order data from e-commerce platforms
- Improve data quality and search experience through real-time data normalization
- Drive system replacement (EOL) projects and support new feature development
- Contribute to system design, requirements definition, and technical documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 4+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering
- Strong proficiency in Java (1.8 or higher), including building batch applications
- Experience with unit testing frameworks
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and related services
- Experience working with Linux operating systems
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical thinking with a data-driven mindset
- Excellent problem-solving skills in complex technical environments
- Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Conversational level
- English: Fluent (English-based working environment)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Apache Beam tools such as Dataflow
- Experience with large-scale data processing systems (e.g., Apache Spark)
- Front-end development exposure (e.g., React, Vue.js) is a plus
