Linux Administrator

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Linux system administration, encompassing initial setup, automated backups, software installation.
• Take full ownership of system troubleshooting and in-depth performance tuning, swiftly diagnosing and resolving issues while proactively optimizing resource utilization to maintain high availability and efficiency.
• Oversee capacity monitoring for servers, storage, and applications; provide expert consultancy and architectural guidance to project teams on system design, scalability, and infrastructure strategy to support business objectives.
• Review and update technical standards and guidelines in full compliance with internal IT audit and regulatory requirements; serve as a senior technical advisor and mentor to junior system administrators, fostering knowledge transfer and team capability development.

Skills Reqd

• Hold a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8.
• Demonstrate solid, in-depth knowledge of technical infrastructure environments combined with proven practical experience in designing system architecture.
• Possess direct, practical experience with Red Hat technologies including KVM virtualization, Red Hat GFS (Global File System), Red Hat Cluster Suite, and middleware platforms such as Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, and MQSeries.
• Show strong proficiency in shell scripting, along with demonstrated experience in system performance monitoring and tuning; additional advantage given to candidates with background in distributed system design and administration.
• Proficient in Cantonese & English.
