Role: Legal Counsel, Commercial Division
Within the Renewable Energy Business Unit, our client is seeking a solicitor for an 18-month fixed-term role. Reporting to the Renewable Energy Legal Manager, this position will provide crucial legal support for operational assets, strategic initiatives, business development, transactions, and general business activities. Additionally, the incumbent will offer comprehensive legal counsel to assist in achieving commercial and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Legal Manager to oversee the legal and governance aspects of strategic projects and transactions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Provide legal support to the Renewable Energy Unit across various areas including commercial, planning and environmental, infrastructure, professional services, M&A, and project financing.
- Offer guidance on corporate governance matters, including approvals and documentation drafting.
- Advise on legal matters affecting commercial and operational activities, recommending appropriate actions and providing clear guidance.
- Participate in negotiations of commercial contracts and transactions, and liaise with external counsel as necessary.
- Ensure consistent implementation of Legal policies and initiatives within Business Units
- Manage external legal service procurement and invoicing coordination.
- Collaborate with legal counterparts across Business Units to maintain consistency in approach.
- Adhere to company Health and Safety regulations and actively participate in the Performance Management process.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with four years post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage diverse workloads effectively.
- Strong team collaboration skills, integrity, and commitment to excellence.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Legal Case Management Systems.
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
