Our client is seeking an analytical, data-driven Purchasing Manager - Commodity Sourcing (IC) to lead strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and supply-chain resilience for their core active components portfolio.
In this role, you will evaluate and execute end-to-end commodity strategies across integrated circuits (ICs), memory chips, SoCs, and camera modules. You will streamline sourcing pipelines, identify supply vulnerabilities, and negotiate competitive commercial terms with semiconductor manufacturers, authorized distributors, and tier-1 EMS partners.
Strategic Commodity Planning: Formulate and execute robust commodity sourcing plans for active components (ICs, DRAM/NAND Flash, SoCs, sensors, and camera modules), aligning procurement targets with overall product roadmaps
Cost Engineering & Negotiation: Conduct structured cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and quarterly business reviews (QBR); drive multi-round commercial negotiations to secure optimal pricing, allocation, and rebate structures.
Market Intelligence & Risk Mitigation: Track semiconductor market trends, wafer foundry utilization, lead times, and obsolescence risks. Develop dual-sourcing architectures and proactive buffer strategies to prevent supply-chain disruptions.
Supplier Lifecycle Management: Oversee supplier qualification, contract lifecycle, and performance metrics (QBR, OTD, DPPM). Partner with tier-1 EMS/foundry vendors and global distributors to ensure supply continuity during tight market allocations.
Cross-Functional Sourcing Integration: Collaborate closely with Hardware Engineering, Component Engineering, and Supply Planning teams to drive early supplier involvement (ESI), standardize component selection, and qualify alternative second-source ICs.
Commodity Depth: Deep hands-on sourcing experience across active electronic components, specifically:
Analog/Digital ICs, Power ICs (PMIC), and Microcontrollers (MCU)
Memory chips (DRAM, LPDDR, eMMC, UFS, NAND Flash)
System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures and application processors
Camera modules (CIS sensors, lenses, VCM, module packaging)
Analytical & Logical Rigor: Exceptional ability to deconstruct complex supply chains, interpret multi-variable market data, and apply structured problem-solving (e.g., TCO, decision trees, risk matrices) under high-pressure allocation scenarios.
Contract & Commercial Acumen: Proven mastery of Master Purchase Agreements (MPA), consignment models, buffer-stock agreements (VMI/BPO), and international commercial terms (Incoterms).
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 7-10 years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience, with at least 4+ years dedicated directly to IC / semiconductor commodity sourcing.
Background from semiconductor design houses/manufacturers, global component distributors, or tier-1 EMS/ODM environments is strongly preferred.
Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to liaise with global design centers and Greater China manufacturing partners.
Proficient with ERP/MRP platforms (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel/data modeling tools.
