Morgan McKinley are partnering with a leading manufacturing organisation in Galway to recruit a Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader to take ownership of the finance function, lead a talented team, and work closely with senior management to support business growth and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the finance agenda while benefiting from a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage, coach and develop a finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset register.
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
- Support cash flow reporting and treasury activities.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax, statutory reporting and financial control requirements.
- Support senior finance leadership with management reporting, financial analysis and strategic finance projects.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, controls and reporting frameworks.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best-practice financial governance and operational efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Significant post-qualification experience, including experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role. 5+ years ideally.
- Proven track record of managing and developing finance teams.
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Experience within a manufacturing or similarly complex business environment is desirable.
