Workshop Manager
Principal Objective:
Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, the Workshop Manager is
responsible for the effective management of the workshop, including equipment
servicing, maintenance planning, team productivity, and operational efficiency. The
role ensures all equipment is maintained to the highest standards while supporting
business needs, particularly during peak seasonal demand.
Knowledge & Experience
- Engineering or mechanical background is essential
- Proven experience in a workshop, service, or maintenance environment
- Experience managing or supervising a team
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Experience working in a fast-paced, operational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output
- Carry out and support repairs, servicing, and maintenance of equipment as required
- Plan and manage preventative maintenance and minimise equipment downtime
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced, and available in line with operational requirements
- Manage workshop productivity, ensuring resources are effectively utilised
- Monitor and manage offline equipment, ensuring timely return to service
- Lead, supervise, and develop team members, effectively managing individual strengths and areas for improvement
- Ensure staffing levels and workflow are aligned with seasonal demand and business needs
- Maintain strong communication with relevant departments regarding picklists, equipment availability, and job priorities
- Ensure all customer damages are accurately recorded, reported, and processed.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping within the workshop
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, efficiency, and cost control
