Reporting to the Capital Projects Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for delivering capital engineering projects across their full life cycle within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
The role focuses on the execution of site investment projects, including HVAC and utility-related systems, while managing contractors, budgets and schedules in compliance with cGMP, site quality systems and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver capital engineering projects from scope development through commissioning and handover.
- Manage third-party contractors and external engineering service providers.
- Own project budgets, schedules and cost control.
- Lead procurement activities including tendering, purchasing and invoice management.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, EHS, Production and Quality.
- Support commissioning and qualification activities in line with site procedures.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and enforce safe working practices for all contractors on site.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years' experience delivering projects in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong project management capability; PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Solid understanding of construction safety and installation best practices.
