The Role
The role offers the right candidate a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on a wide range of transformative residential and regeneration projects across the country through the development life cycle. The ideal candidate will have all necessary technical and commercial acumen required in delivering landmark projects, but importantly will need to be a team player with the drive, work ethic, and adaptability to respond to the exciting challenges of the organization's mandate.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with 3+ years' experience to join a growing organization. The Site Manager will be a part of the Construction Team and assist in the day-to-day management of matters pertaining to the construction, technical, and operational stages of a Project.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Supervision: Supervise the construction stage on-site to ensure that contractors carry out works in strict accordance with the design.
- Work Execution: Ensure that works are constructed as required and organize adequate supervision of construction works on-site.
- Reporting & Coordination: Report directly to the Employer's Representative and coordinate contract interfaces with respect to the works.
- Contract Administration: Assess contractor claims and write corresponding reports; assess contractor payment applications against work completed.
- Submission Review: Review contractor submissions (including method statements) and prepare clear, actionable comments.
- Record Keeping: Supervise the works, maintain detailed records, measure progress, and manage correspondence and contractual documentation.
- Site Documentation: Record detailed reports of all works and significant on-site events, including photographic records where necessary.
- Approval & Issue Tracking: Ensure that all recorded work is approved prior to execution, and document any project disruptions such as delays or industrial disputes.
- Site Meetings: Attend regular site meetings and ensure other site supervisory staff are alerted to any matters that may affect their work.
- Health & Safety: Assist with the administration of the contract in accordance with Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work legislation.
- Ad-hoc Duties: Fulfill other duties as may be assigned.
Person Specifications
- Education: Hold a degree in Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification in Engineering.
- Core Knowledge: Have a satisfactory knowledge of civil engineering works, building construction, and project management.
- Experience: Have at least 3 years' experience working as a Site Manager or as a Resident Engineer with a proven ability to deliver results. Extensive experience in the delivery of residential projects is required.
- Regulations: Direct experience in project management and a strong working knowledge of the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work Regulations.
- Professional Attributes: * Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, and preferably 3 years PQE (Post-Qualified Experience) in a relevant area.
- Demonstrable willingness to take on new responsibilities and the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team within a well-defined project organization structure.
- A proactive, solutions- and results-focused team player with the ability to adapt to new challenges.
- Skillset Development: A keen interest in the development process and expanding skillsets in:
- Project and development management.
- Contractual, commercial, and financial aspects of development projects.
- Building and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Technical Acumen: An understanding of technical principles, construction buildability, technical solutions, and value engineering is a distinct advantage.
- Logistics: A full, clean driving license is required, as site travel will be a necessity.
