    1) Main Tasks/ Responsibilities

    • Provide out of hours support to plant operations during plant start-up, running and shutdown activities
    • Participate in on-call rota
    • Follow all health and safety rules and regulations. Keep work area clean, safe and orderly.
    • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Engineer.
    • The position of Maintenance Electrician requires flexibility and availability as demanded by the needs of a continuous plant and process.
    • You will be part of an on-call system providing electrical cover and as a result, after-hours and weekend interaction with the plant will be a routine aspect of the job.
    • You must be a good team player and be analytically minded in linking financial performance to operational efficiency.
    • Problem Solving / Fault Finding:
    • Ensuring that all PLC programmes are maintained and secured to be safe and deliver efficient plant operation
    • Problem solving and fault finding with the SCADA distributed control system, PLC configuration and programming (Allen Bradley, Historian, DCS/SCADA Wonderware)
    • Problem solving and fault finding with MV/LV AC and LC DC switchgear and distribution systems.


    Maintenance

    • Ensure that all electrical systems are maintained in good and safe condition
    • Management of preventative maintenance plan on electrical equipment and systems where possible, including thermography, instrument calibration etc.
    • Process/Equipment troubleshooting & failure analysis
    • Deliver innovative technical solutions to the plant
    • Production Personnel
    • Liaise with process & production personnel in relation to their issues and concerns regarding
    • plant operation and control


    2) Key Skills

    • 5 years relevant engineering experience in a heavy industrial environment
    • National Electrical Craft Certificate is essential.
    • A Bachelor's degree in electrical/automation engineering or Mechatronic Engineering would be a distinct advantage
    • Fault diagnosis & solving experience
    • Specific experience with Rockwell / Allen Bradley Control Systems and PLCs is advantageous.

    3) Language Skills:

    • Excellent English, both written and verbal communication.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, electrical schematics;ID documents and other procedure manuals.
