Operations Director - Technical Services & Commercial Performance
We are seeking a senior operations leader to take ownership of a complex technical services and facilities operation across a multi-site portfolio. This role combines operational leadership, commercial performance management, and client-facing accountability in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for leading end-to-end technical services delivery, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective performance across multiple sites and service providers. A key part of the role is driving service margin improvement, strengthening commercial discipline, and managing senior client relationships to ensure long-term value and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day technical services and facilities operations across a multi-site estate
- Own service performance, SLA delivery, and operational governance frameworks
- Drive margin improvement through cost control, efficiency gains, and commercial optimisation
- Manage and negotiate with clients and key stakeholders on service delivery and commercial performance
- Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance across hard and soft services
- Implement KPI frameworks, reporting structures, and operational controls
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Lead and develop operational teams and service managers
- Support transformation initiatives including systems, process improvement, and service redesign
Candidate Profile
- Strong background in technical services, FM, or complex operations environments
- Proven experience managing multi-site or large-scale service operations
- Commercially minded with experience in cost control, budgeting, or margin improvement
- Confident managing senior stakeholders and client relationships
- Strong leadership capability across operational teams and vendors
- Comfortable working in environments where performance, efficiency, and accountability are critical
