A leading Irish PLC is looking for a strong Assistant Accountant to join their team in the Dublin 7/8 area.

Salary is DOE: €48,000 - €55,000
This is a pivotal role and a new role within the organisation. You will work as right hand to the Financial Controller, looking after the day-to-day financial management for two newly created entities. This will include day to day bookkeeping, supporting accounts preparation of monthly management accounts, budgeting & forecasting, oversight of payables & receivables from SSC, bank reconciliations etc.

Responsibilities will include:
- Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly management accounts, postings and analysis.
- Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly budget and forecast analysis.
- Support the month-end close process.
- Liaise with internal Shared Services who provide AP and AR services.
- Reconcile intercompany trade and non-trade accounts.
- Support record-keeping, perform reconciliations including bank reconciliations.
- Assist in compiling reports and presentations for Management and Board meetings.
- Assist in preparing and submitting Intrastat returns, VAT filings, and other regulatory submissions.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Contribute to team effort by providing administrative support to Financial Controller and other staff, where appropriate.
Qualifications & Person Specification:
- Minimum of 3-8 years' relevant accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity/international environment.
- Accounting qualification desirable e.g. IATI ACCA part qual etc but not essential.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate records and provide timely reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong Excel skills with a keen attention to detail.
