Senior Project Engineer (M&E) | 12-Month Contract | Cork

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Project Engineer for a 12-month contract based at a pharmaceutical facility in Cork. Supporting the Engineering Manager in elevating senior-level delivery, the successful candidate will assume full responsibility for a diverse project portfolio, ranging from high-volume tactical upgrades to large-scale capital works.

Scope of Work

You will manage the comprehensive project lifecycle, typically overseeing 3 major projects or a suite of 8-9 smaller workstreams concurrently. Key responsibilities include:

• Project Governance: Developing and presenting robust business cases for stakeholder approval.
• Controls & Planning: Precise management of project costings, scheduling, and scope definition.
• Technical Delivery: Executing critical M&E infrastructure upgrades
• Completion: Driving all projects through to final Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q).

Candidate Profile

• Industry Experience: A background in Pharmaceuticals or highly regulated sectors (e.g., Refining or Oil & Gas) is essential. While GMP experience is advantageous, candidates with exceptional project management fundamentals from other regulated industries will be considered.
• Project Expertise: Proficiency in the full "Concept to C&Q" lifecycle with a focus on senior-level delivery.
• Qualifications: A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. A PMP qualification or equivalent professional certification is strongly preferred.
• Competencies: Strong financial acumen, the ability to influence at a management level, and a disciplined approach to safety and quality.
