I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a leading client in the financial services sector for a Senior Fund Accountant based in Cork. About the Role
The successful candidate will work on a range of client engagements, providing expert support in fund accounting operations. This includes NAV production, system migrations, process improvements, reconciliations, and reporting enhancements. You will act as a subject matter expert, collaborate with senior stakeholders, mentor junior staff, and help deliver high-quality outcomes for clients. This is a client-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, challenge, and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver expert fund accounting support across multiple client projects

Perform and review end-to-end NAV calculations

Enhance fund administration processes by improving efficiency and controls

Execute detailed reconciliations and break analysis across custodians, brokers, and internal systems

Contribute to system migrations and onboarding of new funds

Develop client-facing documentation and reporting templates

Use BI tools and KPIs to enhance management information and reporting

Act as a subject matter expert in technical areas of fund accounting

Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
Requirements

3-5 years' experience in fund accounting within financial services or a top-tier consulting environment

In-depth knowledge of fund structures such as UCITS, ICAVs, hedge funds, private equity, and SPVs

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure

Experience with a range of fund administration systems

Excellent understanding of NAV processes and components

Knowledge of financial reporting, performance fee, and distribution calculations is a plus

Relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred

Proficiency in Excel and experience with reporting tools

Strong communication skills and the ability to manage client relationships
