Senior Cyber Security Engineer

My client is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join their organisation in Cork. This is a permanent role.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the organisation's Identity and Access Management strategy across cloud and on-prem environments
• Design and implement secure authentication and authorisation solutions (SSO, MFA, RBAC, ABAC)
• Partner with engineering, product, and IT teams to embed security controls into core platforms and services
• Lead identity lifecycle management, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and access reviews
• Monitor and respond to identity-related security risks, incidents, and vulnerabilities
• Drive continuous improvement of security posture through automation, tooling, and best practices

Key Skills and Experience

• Strong experience in cyber security engineering with a focus on IAM in an in-house/industry environment
• Hands-on expertise with IAM tools and platforms (e.g. Azure AD, Okta, AWS IAM or similar)
• Solid understanding of authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect)
• Experience securing cloud-native architectures and modern applications
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence secure design decisions
• Background mentoring or supporting junior engineers and contributing to team capability development
