Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, pragmatic, and solutions-focused IT Manager to take full ownership of our day-to-day IT systems, support services, infrastructure, and cybersecurity operations, as well as lead and develop our high-performing internal IT support team.
Reporting directly to the Head of IT, this role acts as the operational anchor across a multi-site network. You will ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery and robust IT governance, enabling senior technology leadership to focus on long-term strategy, digital transformation, and AI initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Operations & Service Delivery: Oversee all daily IT operations, infrastructure, cloud environments, and internal service management across multiple regional offices and remote teams.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the internal IT helpdesk and support engineering team, driving high standards of responsiveness and internal stakeholder satisfaction.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Maintain operational oversight of core cyber hygiene processes-including patching, access management, endpoint security, and backup routines-ensuring continuous compliance with ISO 27001 and internal audit frameworks.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Act as the primary owner for third-party IT vendor relationships, hardware/software suppliers, and external Managed Service Providers (MSPs), tracking contract SLAs and performance.
- Service Availability & Escalation: Serve as the final operational escalation point for critical IT support issues, system incidents, and infrastructure maintenance windows.
- Reporting & Collaboration: Provide regular operational updates, KPI reporting, and risk assessments to the Head of IT, ensuring technology foundations closely align with broader organizational goals.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Proven Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT Service Delivery, Infrastructure, or IT Operations, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or team management capacity.
- Sector Background: Strong preference for experience within Professional Services (Accounting/Legal/Consulting), Financial Services, or multi-site SME environments.
- Cybersecurity & Governance: Demonstrable working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, cyber hygiene practices, and ISO 27001 compliance frameworks.
- Vendor Management: Proven track record managing external vendors, MSPs, and hardware/software contracts.
- Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Professional certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Security+, CISM, or Microsoft/Cisco credentials are a distinct advantage.
