My client is looking for a Data Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join their organisation in Cork. This is a permanent role.
Key Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Data Engineer designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience building robust ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and associated data services.
- Solid understanding of modern data warehousing, data modelling, and big data technologies including Spark, Databricks, or Kafka.
- Proven experience with orchestration and automation tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar workflow platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
- Develop and optimise data models, data warehouses, and storage solutions to ensure data quality, reliability, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to deliver data solutions that meet business requirements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance existing data infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Implement data governance, security, and best practices to ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards.
- Evaluate and adopt new data engineering tools, technologies, and methodologies while mentoring junior team members and promoting engineering excellence.
