Security - Firewall Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Security / Firewall Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to deliver high-quality security solutions with minimal oversight.

Please note, this is an LTD/Daily rate contract role

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for firewall engineering, delivering robust security solutions independently.
• Design, implement, and maintain firewall configurations to ensure network security and compliance.
• Work with technologies including CheckPoint, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Forcepoint.
• Perform troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance of network security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with other IT and security teams to support project delivery and operational requirements.
• Produce clear documentation and adhere to industry best practices.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in firewall engineering or a similar network security role.
• Expertise in CheckPoint firewall technologies (certification highly desirable).
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Forcepoint solutions.
• Proven ability to deliver work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Must be based in Ireland; willingness to attend the client site in Cork City is a significant advantage.
