Morgan McKinley is delighted to partner with a leading organisation in the energy and distribution sector to recruit a Logistics & Order Management Coordinator for a 12-month fixed-term contract based in North Cork City.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and commercially aware logistics professional to join a fast-paced operational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting logistics, inventory management, customer service, transport coordination, reporting, and compliance activities while ensuring exceptional service delivery to customers and stakeholders.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Logistics & Order Management Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the end-to-end order process, supporting supply chain operations, managing inventory controls, and ensuring efficient transport scheduling and customer support.
Key Responsibilities
Order & Supply Chain Management
- Manage customer orders from receipt through to successful delivery.
- Monitor and coordinate order scheduling, transportation, and distribution activities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries relating to orders, deliveries, and scheduling.
- Work closely with sales, finance, operations, and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and process improvements.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Transport Coordination
- Coordinate daily transport and logistics activities with customers, suppliers, and transport providers.
- Monitor delivery schedules and communicate updates effectively to stakeholders.
- Track transport performance, delivery timelines, and associated costs.
- Address operational issues promptly to minimise disruption and maintain service levels.
- Support initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and inventory movements to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Support inventory accuracy through effective tracking and reporting processes.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve inventory control procedures.
- Coordinate dispatch requirements and inventory replenishment activities.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Compile and analyse operational data relating to inventory, transportation, and service performance.
- Produce regular reports for management and commercial teams.
- Identify trends, operational efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist with forecasting and planning activities to support business requirements.
Fuel Card Administration
- Support the administration of customer fuel card accounts.
- Process new account requests and maintain accurate records.
- Respond to customer queries and provide ongoing account support.
- Liaise with finance teams regarding billing, reconciliation, and reporting requirements.
- Deliver user guidance and support during customer onboarding.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain operational and compliance documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, health & safety requirements, and relevant industry regulations.
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Promote best practice across operational processes.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, customer service, or a similar coordination role.
- Experience in inventory management and stock control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated with a proactive and positive approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Experience within the fuel, energy, transport, or distribution sectors.
- Knowledge of transport planning, logistics operations, or supply chain processes.
- Experience working with ERP, inventory management, or logistics systems.
