Morgan McKinley is partnering with a leading business in Waterford to recruit an experienced Yard & Logistics Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy yard and logistics operation, ensuring high standards of customer service, operational efficiency and team performance.
Reporting to senior leadership, you will manage all aspects of the yard, including transport coordination, stock control, warehousing and customer deliveries, while leading and developing a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and manage the yard and logistics team.
- Plan rosters, holidays and daily workloads.
- Oversee the movement, storage and control of stock.
- Coordinate customer deliveries and collections.
- Ensure excellent customer service and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Maintain high standards of yard presentation, housekeeping and Health & Safety.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure efficient order fulfilment.
- Identify and implement improvements to operational processes.
- Assist with stock takes and support company promotions and trade events.
- Collaborate with the wider management team to drive business performance.
About You
You will be a proactive and organised people manager with experience leading operations in a fast-paced environment.
Essential:
- Previous experience managing a warehouse, yard, logistics or operations function.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent customer service focus and commercial awareness.
- Computer literate with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience within the construction, builders' merchant or logistics sector.
- Knowledge of transport planning, stock control and warehouse operations.
