The Lead Cost & Inventory Accountant supports accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting across manufacturing and supply chain operations. Working with the Costing & Inventory Senior Manager, this role provides analysis, maintains inventory controls, and partners with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update standard costs; lead the annual cost refresh.
- Analyse manufacturing variances (PPV, absorption, freight, scrap, etc.) and provide cost insights for pricing and new product decisions.
- Complete monthly inventory close activities, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Operations to strengthen inventory processes and controls.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage cycle counts, and assess aged/obsolete stock.
- Ensure accurate valuation in line with accounting standards and support audits.
Experience
- 5+ years in cost accounting or financial analysis, ideally in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
- ERP experience required; SAP preferred.
- Experience supporting internal/external audits.
Skills
- Advanced Excel; Power BI experience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
