Lead Cost and Inventory Accountant

The Lead Cost & Inventory Accountant supports accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting across manufacturing and supply chain operations. Working with the Costing & Inventory Senior Manager, this role provides analysis, maintains inventory controls, and partners with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs; lead the annual cost refresh.
• Analyse manufacturing variances (PPV, absorption, freight, scrap, etc.) and provide cost insights for pricing and new product decisions.
• Complete monthly inventory close activities, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Operations to strengthen inventory processes and controls.
• Monitor inventory levels, manage cycle counts, and assess aged/obsolete stock.
• Ensure accurate valuation in line with accounting standards and support audits.

Experience

• 5+ years in cost accounting or financial analysis, ideally in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
• ERP experience required; SAP preferred.
• Experience supporting internal/external audits.

Skills

• Advanced Excel; Power BI experience
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
