Our client, a well-established organisation, is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join their finance team on a part-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional to take ownership of day-to-day accounting functions while contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department.
This part time role will ideally be 5 hours per day (25 hours per week), 5 days per week working on site in their office.
This role will work very closely with the Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain debtor and creditor accounts
- Manage credit control activities, ensuring timely receipt of payments
- Liaise with customers and resolve invoice-related queries
- Process cash receipts, customer payments, and bank lodgements
- Input, review, and maintain vendor invoices
- Prepare payment runs and process payments through online banking
- Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns
- Process VIES and Intrastat returns
- Post monthly journals within the accounting system
- Maintain multi-currency exchange rates
- Ensure accurate and organised financial filing systems
- Liaise with external auditors and prepare audit documentation
Requirements:
- AAT qualification (preferred)
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounts role
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team
- Flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
