Part Time Accounts Assistant

Our client, a well-established organisation, is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join their finance team on a part-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional to take ownership of day-to-day accounting functions while contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department.

This part time role will ideally be 5 hours per day (25 hours per week), 5 days per week working on site in their office.

This role will work very closely with the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain debtor and creditor accounts
• Manage credit control activities, ensuring timely receipt of payments
• Liaise with customers and resolve invoice-related queries
• Process cash receipts, customer payments, and bank lodgements
• Input, review, and maintain vendor invoices
• Prepare payment runs and process payments through online banking
• Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns
• Process VIES and Intrastat returns
• Post monthly journals within the accounting system
• Maintain multi-currency exchange rates
• Ensure accurate and organised financial filing systems
• Liaise with external auditors and prepare audit documentation

Requirements:

• AAT qualification (preferred)
• 1-2 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounts role
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team
• Flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
