Our client is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their established finance team on a 12-month contract, initially, based in Cork. Given the fast-paced nature of this assignment, candidates with immediate availability or a short notice period are strongly preferred. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in supporting the accurate collation and distribution of high-volume weekly payroll data across multiple jurisdictions, working closely with various internal teams and external processing partners to meet strict timelines.
Responsibilities
Process and input significant volumes of weekly timesheets gathered from diverse data streams.
Serve as a key technical point of contact for complex payroll enquiries escalated by internal support teams.
Collaborate directly with external third-party payroll vendors to resolve processing queries efficiently.
Work in tandem with wider finance functions, including credit control and reporting, to address and resolve operational payroll matters.
Maintain meticulous and up-to-date weekly administrative records for all transactional activity.
Take ownership of managing and triaging inbound communications within the main payroll inbox.
Requirements
A minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience handling both Republic of Ireland and UK payroll processes.
Proven experience managing high-volume, weekly payroll cycles under tight deadlines.
IPASS qualification or equivalent payroll certification is highly desirable.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace tools.
Strong overall systems literacy with the ability to adapt quickly to new software and changing technical platforms.
Full fluency in written and spoken English with exceptional administrative capabilities.
A process-driven mindset coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team setup as well as operate autonomously.
