Principal Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance:
- Monitor the site's environmental program to ensure compliance with all relevant licenses, government regulations, and company standards and values.
- Serve as the primary site contact for environmental aspects of new product introductions, chemical introductions, and construction projects.
- Report any environmental compliance incidents immediately to the Associate Director of EHS & Security and lead or support incident investigations.
Regulatory and Reporting Duties:
- Compile and submit all regulatory reports within specified deadlines.
- Lead on-site environmental audits (both internal and external) to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage and submit monthly environmental metrics to the global team.
Sustainability and Waste Management:
- Act as the site coordinator for sustainability initiatives.
- Oversee and manage all waste-related activities, including hosting monthly calls with the Total Waste Management (TWM) contractor.
Documentation, Training, and Interdepartmental Collaboration:
- Develop and maintain environmental documentation and deliver training programs to ensure compliance.
- Build relationships with key departments to foster support for environmental programs and compliance.
Monitoring and Data Analysis:
- Coordinate all environmental monitoring and sampling on-site, analyze data, and document results.
Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA):
- Provide DGSA support to the site and act as the lead for related on-site DGSA audits.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of five years in environment, health, and safety roles, preferably including:
- 2-4 years in an EPA-regulated, cGMP environment.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance reporting processes.
- This role requires expertise in regulatory compliance, environmental monitoring, sustainability initiatives, and cross-departmental collaboration within a manufacturing context.
