A leading global healthcare company focused on improving sight is seeking a Process Engineer for their high-volume, automated manufacturing equipment at their Waterford facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and effective production of their vision care products, which reach millions of people worldwide.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical expert for high-volume, automated manufacturing equipment.
- Provide daily operational support through the diagnosis and resolution of production line issues.
- Utilize a data-driven methodology to pinpoint key areas for improvement and lead continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing equipment uptime, product yield, and cycle times.
- Organize, manage, and optimize planned maintenance and calibration schedules.
- Conduct thorough assessments of machinery to identify and procure necessary spare parts.
- Support site-level strategic initiatives and projects related to production capacity expansion.
- Deliver technical training to operations and maintenance personnel as required.
- Act as a role model for strong safety and quality practices.
- Take ownership of, track, and report on safety, quality, and operational action items.
- Develop clear work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Author and execute process and equipment engineering studies and protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Master of Engineering (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated success in optimizing highly automated production lines within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Lean/Six Sigma and/or project management certification is desirable.
