An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join a leading global healthcare manufacturing facility in Clonmel. This position will supervise the activities, manpower, and resources within the site's Maintenance Department, ensuring equipment uptime, reliability, and regulatory compliance to support production and operational goals.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role within the engineering team - coordinating maintenance schedules, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and developing a high-performing technical team in a regulated, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Lead and manage maintenance technicians, ensuring effective execution of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to maximise equipment uptime.
Develop and manage staffing plans, including resource requirements, recruitment, training, and performance management.
Prioritise and assign work orders, monitor workloads, and maintain accurate personnel and maintenance records.
Liaise closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to support business needs and improvement projects.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (e.g. FDA, BSI, EHS).
Manage spare parts and equipment inventory to agreed levels, supporting operational efficiency.
Monitor departmental KPIs and operational costs, ensuring maintenance activities remain within established budgets.
Support project delivery for new equipment, process improvements, and reliability initiatives.
Act as a key decision-maker for day-to-day operations within the maintenance function.
NFQ Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role, preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, pharma, or high-volume production).
Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, equipment reliability, and compliance in a GMP/FDA-regulated environment.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience liaising with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
