Morgan McKinley is partnering with a leading global healthcare manufacturer to recruit a Reliability Engineer & MEP Lead for their advanced manufacturing site in Westport, Co. Mayo. This is a senior-level engineering role offering the opportunity to shape long-term reliability and maintenance strategies across a multi-divisional operation.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, the Reliability Engineer & MEP Lead will lead the site-wide Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) and reliability engineering strategy. The role will oversee maintenance frameworks, reliability programs, predictive and preventive initiatives, and drive operational performance improvements across Biologics, Eyecare, Implants, Utilities, and Facilities operations.
This is a strategic and leadership-focused position, managing a team of reliability professionals and providing cross-functional direction across engineering, operations, and global functions.
Develop and implement the site-wide MEP strategy, governance model, and improvement roadmap.
Lead and standardise Predictive and Preventive Maintenance frameworks, Mechanical Integrity programs, and risk-based reliability strategies.
Oversee RCA, FMEA, and RCM efforts on critical equipment and utilities.
Manage and develop a high-performing team of engineers, planners, and contract specialists.
Provide engineering input into new capital projects, ensuring asset lifecycle reliability and cost efficiency.
Represent the reliability function at a senior leadership level, contributing to long-term asset performance and operational strategy.
Oversee vendor management and spare parts strategies.
Ensure full compliance with GMP, EHS, and regulatory standards.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
7-10 years' experience in engineering or reliability roles, with 2+ years in a leadership or strategic position.
Demonstrated experience leading major reliability programs or operational transformations.
Proficiency in CMMS systems (Maximo or similar).
Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance, asset management KPIs, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent Operational Excellence certification desirable.
Project management experience or formal certification an advantage.
Willingness to travel periodically to support cross-site and global program integration.
