Our client, a leading organisation, is urgently seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join their busy team for a temporary 6-month contract. As the Bookkeeper, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the finance function. This hands-on role requires strong commercial acumen and a disciplined, professional approach to financial compliance and controls.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining accurate records for accounts receivable and accounts payable.
* Managing credit control, monitoring customer accounts for overdue payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
* Processing supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments.
* Performing weekly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and monitoring cash flow.
* Managing and reconciling corporate credit card transactions, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
* Supporting month-end closing activities and assisting with the year-end audit process.
* Ensuring strict compliance with Group policies and procedures.
Key Requirements
* Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a similar accounts based role
* Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
* A commercially focused and disciplined professional approach.
* Proven credit control skills and experience.
* A high level of competence in compliance and controls.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
* Strong IT skills (knowledge of relevant accounting software is a plus).
