Role Overview
This opportunity is ideal for a mechanical engineer with 3-5 years of project engineering experience seeking to broaden their technical and project management capabilities.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing assigned new-unit projects - both standard and bespoke - from order placement through to delivery. The role requires a balance of technical engineering understanding and project management skills, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical
- Review and interpret detailed client technical specifications for packaged filtration and process equipment.
- Extract relevant client requirements and communicate these effectively to internal teams, sub-vendors, and subcontractors.
- Review and assess product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and contractual obligations.
- Liaise with design engineers in preparing detailed drawing packages for client approval and production.
- Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases in line with customer requirements.
- Collaborate with fabricators during vessel manufacture and participate in testing and inspections (e.g., hydro testing, weld inspections).
Project Management
- Manage multiple concurrent projects from order receipt to customer delivery.
- Define project activities, milestones, and documentation deliverables in accordance with customer and contractual requirements.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets, monitoring progress and reporting updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate project documentation submissions and approval cycles.
- Identify and manage subcontract vendors to ensure performance, quality, and delivery standards are met.
- Track and control project expenditures to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Provide regular progress and status reports to clients, internal teams, and management.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
- 3-5 years of relevant project engineering experience within a process, manufacturing, or equipment-based industry.
- Experience working with pressure vessels and fabrication processes is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with international design codes (e.g., ASME, API) preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and translate requirements into actionable project tasks.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
