Morgan McKinley are delighted to be partnering with our client, a growing and evolving organisation, to appoint an experienced and technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of financial reporting and financial statements. You will work closely with Finance, FP&A, and wider business stakeholders to improve reporting processes, strengthen controls, and help shape the future of financial reporting.
This is an intial 6 months contract with strong possiblity for extension and a fully remote, open to candidates based anywhere across Ireland.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and will bring a strong eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reports and financial statements.
- Review and improve processes for capturing, validating, and consolidating source information used in financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of financial reporting processes.
- Work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to ensure financial reporting is aligned with operational and commercial activity across the business.
- Develop clear and insightful reporting using both financial and non-financial data.
- Support the design and implementation of the future-state financial reporting environment, including the effective use of new reporting systems, technology, and software.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
- Ensure reporting requirements are met while adapting to changes in the organisation, systems, and business priorities.
- Provide analysis and insight to support stakeholders in understanding financial performance.
- Undertake other finance and reporting responsibilities as required.
About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant who combines strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise with a commercial and analytical mindset.
You will ideally have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA.
- 8+ years of relevant accounting or financial reporting experience.
- Strong experience within financial reporting, management reporting, or a similar finance environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across different areas of the business.
- A proactive, self-directed approach and a genuine "can-do" attitude.
