An established and reputable organisation in the industrial supply and manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to oversee and expand business operations across the South and West of Ireland.
This is a key strategic role focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and contributing to long-term commercial growth. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in B2B sales within the construction and/or engineering sectors, with a proven ability to drive results and build high-value client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively build, manage, and grow strong relationships with existing and potential clients across the assigned region.
- Identify and secure new sales opportunities through market analysis, networking, and lead generation.
- Develop tailored business development strategies and account plans for key clients.
- Manage and maintain a consistent sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and collaboration with internal supply chain and production teams.
- Gain deep understanding of the organisation's products and services to maximise cross-selling and upselling potential.
- Maintain accurate records of all client interactions, quotations, and sales through internal CRM and ERP platforms.
- Produce monthly progress and performance reports for senior management.
- Stay informed of industry trends and competitor activity to help shape commercial strategies.
- Support other projects and ad-hoc initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Business Development role, ideally within the construction or engineering industries.
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record of consistently achieving sales targets and revenue growth.
- Ability to engage with clients at all levels and build long-term, trust-based relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/ERP systems.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel across the South and West of Ireland.
- Relevant degree in business, sales, or a related field is preferred.
