Role Overview:
This is a pivotal role for a seasoned tax professional who can take the lead on all areas of tax - Income Tax, Corporation Tax, and VAT. You'll work closely with the partners to provide high-quality advisory services and drive new client acquisition. The role is remote, offering excellent flexibility and autonomy, while also requiring a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all tax services including Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, and associated compliance and advisory work.
- Act as the primary contact for clients on complex tax matters, ensuring delivery of high-quality advice and service.
- Take responsibility for managing and developing client relationships, delivering tax planning and strategy.
- Drive business development by identifying and pursuing new client opportunities and building your own portfolio.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and ensure clients remain compliant while taking advantage of relevant planning opportunities.
- Support and mentor junior staff, contributing to the firm's overall capability and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the wider team on cross-functional advisory matters and practice strategy.
- Actively participate in shaping the firm's strategic direction as part of the leadership team.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in tax, with a strong technical grounding in all major tax heads.
- Proven track record of business development and successfully growing client bases.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills - confident, approachable, and persuasive.
- Strong commercial awareness with an entrepreneurial drive.
Desirable:
- VAT - ability to advise on complex domestic and cross-border issues.
- Experience in a small or mid-sized practice environment.
- Existing network or client following is a strong advantage.
- Experience in presenting or writing thought leadership pieces on tax.
