Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location:
Office-based in Dublin, Ireland, with travel to project sites as required.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all aspects of cost control, procurement, and contractual management across multiple construction projects. This position is primarily office-based in Dublin, with regular site visits as required to support project delivery and ensure commercial performance is maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all quantity surveying duties across assigned projects from pre-contract through to final account
- Prepare, review, and manage cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Conduct procurement of subcontractors, including tender analysis and contract award recommendations
- Administer contracts in accordance with relevant forms (e.g. RIAI, JCT, NEC where applicable)
- Carry out valuations, variations, and interim payment applications
- Monitor project costs and report on commercial performance to senior management
- Provide commercial support to project managers and site teams
- Negotiate and agree final accounts with subcontractors and clients
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards
- Attend site visits and meetings as required
Requirements:
- Minimum 6+ years' experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management principles
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider commercial team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS software systems
Desirable:
- Membership or working towards membership of RICS or SCSI
- Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects
- Main contractor experience preferred
