Senior Manager - Smart Energy Services
Location: Santry, Dublin | Hybrid working
A leading organisation within Ireland's energy sector is seeking an experienced Senior Manager - Smart Energy Services to lead and grow a developing energy services business focused on helping large energy users transition towards a lower-carbon future.
The business delivers integrated energy management solutions across areas including energy efficiency, electrification, on-site generation and demand-side management. This is a senior leadership opportunity combining business strategy, commercial performance, customer engagement and technical delivery.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Developing Businesses, you will take responsibility for the overall performance and continued development of the Smart Energy Services business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement the business strategy, supporting growth in a changing energy and technology environment.
- Lead the commercial and operational performance of the business, balancing financial performance, customer requirements, risk and market pressures.
- Develop appropriate governance and risk management frameworks while maintaining an agile approach to delivery.
- Identify and develop innovative solutions in response to evolving customer requirements, including the use of data analytics and emerging technologies.
- Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team across areas such as engineering, project management, digital and commercial.
- Establish a strong safety culture across employees and contractors.
- Develop and manage an effective contractor strategy, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality.
- Build strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, contractors and external partners.
- Support large energy users in reducing their carbon footprint through practical energy solutions.
Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- 10+ years' relevant experience within utilities, construction, energy infrastructure or a related environment.
- Experience within Energy Services, ESCO, energy efficiency, energy management or distributed generation.
- A strong understanding of the challenges associated with the Net Zero and low-carbon energy transition.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to understand financial performance and contractual risk across complex projects and agreements.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working across customer-facing and cross-functional teams.
- A full clean driving licence.
