Senior Buyer

Morgan McKinley is delighted to be working with a major player in Ireland's food supply sector to recruit a Fresh Food Buyer to join their expanding commercial team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced food procurement professional to take ownership of a high-impact product portfolio within a business known for innovation, quality, and strong market presence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead sourcing strategy and supplier selection across fresh food product lines
• Manage full product lifecycle including onboarding new products and discontinuing underperforming lines
• Deliver financial targets relating to margin, rebate income, and promotional returns
• Conduct tender processes and negotiate supply agreements
• Develop strong and sustainable partnerships with suppliers
• Work closely with technical, quality, and marketing teams to support branded and own-label product initiatives
• Analyse sales trends, pricing structures, and margin performance
• Monitor competitor activity and identify growth opportunities
• Implement pricing and promotional strategies to support revenue growth
• Provide reporting and commercial insights to senior stakeholders
• Drive new product introduction initiatives aligned to market demand
• Represent the business at industry trade events and supplier showcases

Key Requirements

• 3+ years experience within food procurement, buying, or commercial sourcing
• Strong knowledge of fresh or perishable food supply chains
• Demonstrated ability to manage supplier negotiations and deliver cost efficiencies
• Advanced Excel capability with strong presentation skills
• Full driving licence and flexibility to travel when required
