Morgan McKinley is delighted to partner with a leading global fund administration services provider to hire a Senior Analyst for their Fund Accounting Business Change Management (FA BCM) and Business Implementation (FA BI) team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a fund accounting professional with project delivery experience to step into a role that blends business analysis, project management and hands-on change delivery within a global asset servicing business.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Fund Accounting Business Change Management, you will lead on both Business Implementation (BI) events, such as new fund launches and fund mergers, and wider Fund Accounting Business Change (BCM) projects, including IT-driven change, automation initiatives and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Take the Fund Accounting lead on Business Implementation events, including New Fund Launches, Mergers-in and other BI event types.
- Own fund set-up documentation and manage client engagement throughout BI events.
- Lead Fund Accounting BI project tasks for large-scale fund onboarding from a prior administrator, including project planning, client communication, legal document review, fund parameter review, fee budget reviews and account mapping reviews.
- Ensure BI-FA events are delivered to operational teams in a controlled, high-quality manner.
- Analyse client requirements for New Fund Launch events, including swing pricing and performance fee requirements.
- Lead Fund Accounting Business Change (BCM) projects, spanning transformation initiatives, IT changes (new developments, tools, automation, reporting enhancements) and non-IT organisational/process improvements.
- For IT changes: write detailed requirements (PID), review business requirements documentation (BRD), complete UAT and ensure successful production implementation.
- Combine PMO responsibilities (project documentation, plans, risk and action logs, flow mapping, project slides) with business analysis (detailed impact analysis on operational flows and systems).
- Review technical specifications (Functional Requirement Description/FRD) for new functionality.
- Support UAT testing and implementation for new releases of the core fund accounting platform.
- Contribute to full automation of the Fund Accounting operating model, including trade interface builds and improving straight-through processing (STP) rates.
- Collaborate on global change initiatives with Business Change Management teams in other locations.
- Support regulatory requirements as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in Fund Accounting, with strong knowledge of both Hedge and Mutual Funds.
- Ideally, a minimum of 4 years' experience in a project management-related role.
- Knowledge of Multifonds fund accounting systems.
- Familiarity with a project management methodology.
- Knowledge of complex fund types (e.g. multi-manager pooling) and complex fund investments (e.g. OTC).
- Knowledge of performance fee methodologies and data vendors such as Bloomberg or IDC.
- A third-level qualification in a business or accounting-related discipline is preferred.
- Highly proficient in Excel, with strong numerical and analytical skills; comfortable with MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated with strong organisational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
