Project Engineer - Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing
Reporting to the Projects Programme Manager, the Project Engineer will support the delivery of large capital projects or manage multiple smaller projects across manufacturing and utilities within a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
The role involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver projects that enhance site capability and support long-term business strategy. Project execution will prioritise safety, schedule and budget compliance while adhering to engineering standards, regulatory requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects in line with safety, scope, schedule and budget targets.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements and internal governance processes, including stage-gate controls.
- Develop project concepts and business cases in collaboration with sponsors and end users.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams and external contractors.
- Manage project financials, including budgets, cash flow, forecasting and cost control.
- Oversee project design, planning, scheduling, risk management and execution.
- Coordinate procurement activities, commissioning, start-up and validation support.
- Drive value engineering, innovation and operational excellence.
- Complete project close-out in accordance with governance requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
- Minimum 3 years' experience delivering engineering projects within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of the full project life cycle and stage-gate governance.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders, contractors and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project planning tools.
- Experience with SAP, budgeting tools and biologics manufacturing environments is desirable.
