The Engineering Technician provides technical support to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance of Drug Product, API, and Packaging equipment within a high-containment pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, operating to HPRA and FDA standards.
Provide maintenance and technical support for:
API processing equipment
Blending and capsule filling systems
Primary and secondary packaging equipment
Vision inspection, serialization, and high-containment systems
Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on production and utilities equipment
Carry out equipment calibration activities as required
Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment to appropriate quality and safety standards
Proactively investigate and resolve recurring technical issues
Develop, review, and improve maintenance routines within a cGMP-regulated environment
Promote and apply lean maintenance and continuous improvement practices
Accurately record all maintenance and calibration activities using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), ensuring compliance with regulatory and cGMP requirements
Execute work orders and calibrations in line with scheduled CMMS plans
Provide daily maintenance updates at shift handover meetings, clearly communicating issues and outstanding actions
Participate in safety, health, and environmental training and initiatives
Adhere strictly to site safety rules, procedures, and safe working practices
Maintain compliance with all site procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
Participate in cross-functional training initiatives and mentor operations personnel
Support on-call coverage as part of a defined rota, when required
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers across all departments
Actively promote a strong culture of safety awareness and accountability
Complete all required SOP reviews, training, and competency assessments in a timely manner
Support cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing
Uphold and promote the organisation's corporate values and standards
Carry out additional duties as assigned by engineering or EHS leadership
Trade qualification or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
Completed apprenticeship with a minimum of 5 years' experience and/or an engineering degree
Minimum of 3 years' maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment
Experience using a CMMS (SAP experience is advantageous)
Multi-skilled background (mechanical and electrical)
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
Proven ability to deliver results in a regulated environment
Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement and best-practice maintenance
