Morgan McKinley has exclusively partenered with well-established, engineering-led technology company as they look to hire a Linux Build Engineer.
In this role, you'll work on high-performance build pipelines using Makefiles, Buildroot, Yocto, and NixOS, and play a key part in optimizing and scaling build processes for embedded systems.
What You'll Do:
- Design, implement and maintain build systems using tools like Makefiles, Yocto, and Buildroot.
- Optimize build performance and reliability across multiple projects.
- Own and manage CI/CD pipelines with Git & GitHub/GitLab.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and deliver robust embedded solutions.
- Troubleshoot build-related issues and continuously improve the development workflow.
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux build engineering.
- Deep knowledge of build systems and package managers (Makefile, Buildroot, Yocto, NixOS).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python).
- Proficiency in Git and CI/CD workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
Bonus:
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with embedded systems and cross-compilation.
- Understanding of Linux system architecture or kernel-level development.
