Lending Manager | Permanent | Dublin / hybrid
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Lending Manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and managing a portfolio of customers requiring finance for residential development projects.
You will oversee projects through the entire lending cycle, from initial enquiry to full repayment. The role requires a track record of detailed loan assessments, preparation of comprehensive loan reports, adherence to compliance standards, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers seeking funding for residential developments.
- Support borrowers in structuring loan proposals and ensuring a smooth lending process.
- Loan Assessment and Reporting -Perform detailed evaluations of residential development projects.
- Prepare clear and concise loan reports and make recommendations to the appropriate sanctioning authority.
- Portfolio Management -Regularly review borrower relationships and funded developments.
- Performance and Compliance -Meet lending targets within agreed timeframes and on commercial terms.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and governance standards.
- Cooperate with internal and external auditors as required.
- Collaboration - Foster strong working relationships with internal teams such as Credit & Risk and external advisors including monitoring surveyors and property consultants.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial institution, with a proven track record in residential lending.
- Expertise in preparing funding proposals and achieving lending targets.
- Strong knowledge of residential development lending products and markets.
- Strong understanding of financing models, financial forecasts, and audited accounts.
- Sound commercial judgment and awareness of the Irish residential market.
- Familiarity with lending agreements, covenants, and security requirements.
- Proven ability to deliver results and meet objectives.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risks while structuring deals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Degree in economics, finance, or a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional qualification.
