We are currently seeking an IT Support Technician to join a busy team based in North County Dublin. This is a great opportunity for someone at the early stage of their IT career who is eager to build practical experience in a fast-paced and hands-on environment.
In this role, you will play an important part in keeping core systems and infrastructure running smoothly. You'll provide first and second-line support across operating systems, handheld scanners, label printers, transport tracking tools, and general on-site IT infrastructure.
You will also work with internal support systems to assist in managing a medium-sized site, while offering remote support to other locations within the wider business. This will involve deployment and maintenance of Windows devices, some server-side work, and regular face-to-face interaction with end users.
Provide first and second-line technical support to approximately 150 users on-site, as well as remote users across other locations.
Assist with IT asset management and ensure accurate records are maintained.
Set up and recover devices as part of onboarding and offboarding processes.
Source pricing and liaise with vendors on IT hardware and services.
Ensure IT policies and procedures are followed.
Contribute to internal knowledge base content and documentation.
Participate in IT projects such as hardware rollouts, software upgrades, and office moves.
Maintain compliance with security and operational standards.
Follow company policies relating to Health & Safety, employment, quality, and environmental standards.
Take part in the annual performance review and objective setting process.
May be required to provide occasional out-of-hours or on-call support.
Genuine interest in IT and technology.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support users and explain technical information clearly.
IT certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation) are an advantage but not essential.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic IT issues.
Experience using a support desk or ticketing system to assist local and remote users.
Familiarity with system administration tools and Windows-based environments.
Understanding of Active Directory in a domain environment.
Knowledge of Windows deployment tools such as WDS and maintaining deployment images.
Comfortable supporting Microsoft Office applications at a user level.
Good general understanding of hardware and troubleshooting issues such as network connectivity and peripheral failure.
Exposure to Windows Server 2019 or 2022 is a plus but not essential.
Basic experience supporting VOIP telephony equipment.
Familiarity with warehouse equipment (e.g. handheld scanners, label printers, RF guns) is helpful but not essential.
Full driving licence and own transport is required.
Physically able to handle and move IT equipment as needed.
