Head of Human Resources
A leading healthcare organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Human Resources to lead and develop its HR function, providing both strategic direction and operational leadership across the organisation.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will play a key part in shaping people strategy, workforce planning, employee relations, organisational development, and HR governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and manage the Human Resources function and HR team.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the Executive Team on all HR matters.
- Drive workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, public sector agreements, and HR best practice.
- Lead employee and industrial relations activity, including engagement with trade unions and external bodies.
- Oversee performance management, absence management, learning and development, payroll governance, and pension administration.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and organisational development initiatives.
- Support organisational change and continuous improvement programmes.
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualification in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
- CIPD membership.
- Minimum 5 years' senior HR leadership experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior management role.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing an HR function.
- Strong leadership experience managing and motivating teams.
- Excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Strong report writing, presentation, and analytical abilities.
- Experience preparing contracts, policies, reports, and senior-level correspondence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Employment Law or a related field.
- Experience within healthcare, hospital, or wider public sector environments.
