We are seeking an experienced Head of Development - Digital & Mobile to lead multiple engineering teams delivering innovative mobile and web banking solutions at a global level.
This is a senior leadership role combining engineering strategy, people leadership, delivery and technical excellence. You will shape the engineering roadmap, improve software delivery and quality, and build high-performing teams while working closely with Product, Architecture, Security and Delivery.
Key responsibilies:
- Lead and develop multiple engineering teams across mobile and web.
- Define and execute the digital engineering strategy and roadmap.
- Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle and improve delivery predictability.
- Drive engineering excellence across Agile, CI/CD, automated testing and release management.
- Champion security, quality and compliance throughout the SDLC.
- Improve developer experience, tooling and engineering productivity.
- Balance core product development with customer-specific requirements.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to align technology with customer and business outcomes.
- Drive innovation, including the effective use of AI in software development.
- Develop engineering leaders and foster a high-performing, inclusive culture.
The successful candidate will bring;
- Significant experience leading multiple software engineering teams.
- Strong experience delivering mobile and web products.
- Experience with modern frontend technologies.
- Strong understanding of APIs, application architecture and modern engineering practices.
- A track record of improving delivery, quality and engineering processes.
- Experience balancing product development and bespoke customer solutions.
- Experience in fintech, banking or another regulated environment is highly desirable.
- Experience using AI to improve engineering productivity or software quality.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proven ability to develop leaders and build high-performing engineering teams.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
