An established and growing business within the FMCG sector is looking to hire a Company Accountant to join its finance function in North Dublin.
Reporting directly to Group Finance, this role will take ownership of the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and the smooth running of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accounts, including management accounts and supporting financial information.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring invoices, payments and customer receipts are processed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted on time.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant deadlines and requirements.
- Assist with year-end accounts preparation and coordinate supporting documentation for external audits.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Work closely with the Group Finance team on financial reporting, controls and ad hoc accounting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
The Ideal Candidate
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with at least 2 years' PQE.
- Trained within a Top 10 accountancy practice.
- Strong technical accounting skills, with experience across accounts preparation, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Experience across AP, AR, payroll oversight and VAT returns.
- FMCG, food, manufacturing or distribution experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a wider finance team.
