The Automation Engineer will support new manufacturing projects, specifying, purchasing, and managing the implementation of manufacturing solutions for customer product introductions. Reporting to the Senior Automation Engineer or above.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage new equipment and product introduction projects.
- Develop manufacturing strategies to meet customer and business needs.
- Lead project teams, manage deliverables, timelines, and costs.
- Build relationships with customers and equipment suppliers for product development and continuous improvement.
- Ensure new equipment meets regulatory and safety requirements.
- Oversee installation, training, and handover to operations.
- Collaborate with departments to align new processes with business needs.
- Identify and implement new manufacturing methods and improvements.
- Act as a technical expert on automated manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- NFQ Level 7 Degree in Engineering, preferably in Automation, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3+ years' experience in engineering.
- Familiar with PLCs, vision control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Cognex), and Barcode Scanning & RFID.
- Knowledge of Industrial Networks (Ethernet IP, Control Net & Profibus) and SQL Database querying.
- Experience in machine control systems, automation, and validation processes.
- Experience in customer-facing environments.
- Knowledge of EU-GMP and Lean Sigma certification is a plus.
