Our client is seeking an experienced International Payroll Specialist to join their Global Financial Solutions centre in Cork for a 9 month temporary contract. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and processing of payroll across multiple international jurisdictions. This role acts as a vital interface between external payroll providers, internal HR and Finance departments, and both internal and external auditors to ensure a premium service is delivered to staff globally. Due to the immediate requirements of this international function, applicants with a short notice period or immediate availability will be preferred.
Collaborate with HR and external providers to ensure the accurate and timely flow of information for payroll processing in compliance with local country requirements.
Execute month-end payroll activities, including the preparation of journals, accruals, and comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage monthly and annual local tax payments while ensuring all regional compliance obligations are satisfied.
Maintain and implement robust controls to capture monthly changes, ensuring all variances are reconciled and documented.
Coordinate and facilitate payroll-related meetings and professional presentations.
Deliver accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and external government agencies in a timely manner.
Oversee the preparation of all employee-related and payroll tax payments.
Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including desktop procedures and flowcharts.
Identify and drive process efficiencies and continuous improvements within the payroll function.
Administer the payroll query management system to ensure all correspondence is addressed promptly and filed correctly.
Liaise with external consultants regarding complex payroll treatments, such as international assignments and expatriate requirements.
Support internal and external audit processes to verify and maintain the integrity of payroll data.
Contribute to various project-based activities and system enhancements as required by the department.
Extensive experience as an International Payroll Specialist, ideally within a multi-country Shared Service Centre environment.
IPASS qualification or a relevant international equivalent is highly preferred.
Demonstrable high-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage complex data sets.
Working knowledge of large-scale ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
