Temporary Accounts Assistant

Our client, a dynamic Irish company, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team immediately for a 5-month contract. This is an urgent requirement, and the successful candidate will be working fully onsite in Cork City.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including:

• Posting sales invoices and debtor receipts
• Posting purchase invoices and creditor payments
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Reconciling the Trial Balance
• Preparing and filing VAT, RCT, VIES, Intrastat, and CSO returns
• Assisting with the preparation of Management Accounts and Audit accounts
• Running weekly and monthly payroll
• Ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Accounting Technician or similar qualification
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting role
• Experience with Sage Payroll, Xero, and Big Red Book (advantageous, not essential)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Proven team player
