Our client, a dynamic Irish company, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team immediately for a 5-month contract. This is an urgent requirement, and the successful candidate will be working fully onsite in Cork City.
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including:
- Posting sales invoices and debtor receipts
- Posting purchase invoices and creditor payments
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Reconciling the Trial Balance
- Preparing and filing VAT, RCT, VIES, Intrastat, and CSO returns
- Assisting with the preparation of Management Accounts and Audit accounts
- Running weekly and monthly payroll
- Ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Accounting Technician or similar qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting role
- Experience with Sage Payroll, Xero, and Big Red Book (advantageous, not essential)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Proven team player
